Netflix drops One Piece anime remake teaser, premiere set for 2027

Netflix just released the teaser trailer for the One Piece anime remake, confirming a 2027 premiere. The project revisits Eiichiro Oda’s manga, starting fresh with the East Blue saga.

The original One Piece anime has been running since 1999 with more than 1,000 episodes. This remake is produced by WIT Studio and will be separate from the long-running series. It wants to deliver a modern adaptation with updated animation while keeping close to the source material.

Netflix is also behind the live-action One Piece adaptation. Season 2 dropped in March, and Season 3 is already confirmed for 2027. The anime remake adds another layer to the franchise’s growing lineup on the platform.

The teaser shows familiar characters and settings, sparking mixed reactions from fans. Some welcome the new visuals, while others question the need to redo a classic that has defined anime for decades.
