LTO: You can now renew your motor vehicle registration online

As part of its initiative to digitize its services, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced that you can now renew your motor vehicle registration online via the Land Transport Management System (LTMS) portal.

This makes renewing your car registration much faster, eliminating the need to stay in long lines. In fact, the LTO went as far as saying that it can take anywhere from five to ten minutes to complete the process. However, only those who have an existing account with a record of their vehicle registration on the LTMS portal can proceed with the online process.

First-time registrants who do not yet have their vehicle registration information in the LTMS can proceed to any LTO district office and have the agency’s personnel complete the transaction on their behalf. After this initial process, your registration details will be reflected on the portal, allowing you to register your vehicle online for subsequent years.

Vehicle owners are reminded to secure the Certificate of Coverage (COC) from their preferred insurance provider, as well as the inspection report from the Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (PMVIC) before transacting on the LTMS portal.

What do you think? Will this make the vehicle registration process faster?
