Google has just dropped a glimpse of its upcoming foldable phone, the Pixel Fold. The device is set to debut at the company’s annual developers conference, Google I/O, on May 10, 2023.
The teaser video, which lasts only 8 seconds, reveals some of the key features and design choices of the Pixel Fold. The foldable phone seems to combine the best of both worlds from its rivals, OPPO Find N2 Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.
The Pixel Fold has a compact and sleek form factor when folded, similar to the Find N2 Fold. It opens up to reveal an inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is ideal for productivity and entertainment. The phone also sports a premium look and feel, with chrome trimmings and a beige colorway that echo the Galaxy Z Fold4. However, the camera island on the back is distinctly Google, resembling the Pixel 7 Pro.
The inner display has noticeable bezels around it, which may help with gripping it in landscape mode. Also, the top bezel is thicker than the others and houses an inside camera in the right corner.
