The Philippine national esports team, SIBOL, delivered an outstanding performance at the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, winning six medals across various gaming categories.

SIBOL clinched gold in League of Legends: Wild Rift, bronze in Crossfire and Valorant, and a historic bronze in PUBG Mobile. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Men’s Team also claimed their third consecutive championship win, while the MLBB Women’s Team, composed of members from Smart Omega Empress, secured silver in their division.

The team of 47 athletes and coaches was supported by Smart Communications, a long-time sponsor of the Philippine Esports Organization (PESO), the national sports agency for esports. Smart has been instrumental in fostering the growth of the esports community in the Philippines, catering to the needs of national athletes, professional and casual gamers, stakeholders, and fans alike.

SIBOL was established in 2017 by PESO to represent the Philippines in international esports events. The team made history in 2019 when they competed at the 30th SEA Games, where esports was recognized as a medal sport for the first time.
