Smart leads Philippine wireless broadband market with 44% share in Q1 2025

A key driver of this growth is the launch of Smart Home WiFi.

Smart Communications has taken the top spot in the Philippine wireless broadband market, reporting over 430,000 subscribers and capturing 44% of market share by the end of the first quarter of 2025. This puts them slightly ahead of their closest competitor, which holds 42%.

A key driver of this growth is the launch of Smart Home WiFi, a broadband service designed for households in areas with limited or no fiber access.

One of its main products, the Smart 5G Max Turbo WiFi, is a prepaid, plug-and-play device that supports up to 15 devices, ideal for homes, dorms, and small businesses.

The service runs on Smart’s 5G network, allowing for smooth video streaming, fast file transfers, and low-lag online gaming. The telco is also expanding its 5G coverage across the country, supporting the PLDT Group’s goal of improving digital access nationwide.

“The growth of our broadband subscriber base is just the beginning. Our customers can look forward to even more amazing products and innovative services as we continuously strive to delight them and cater to their evolving lifestyle needs, powered by our world-class network,” said Anastacio R. Martirez, Smart Chief Operating Officer.
