Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to stream on Disney+ in August

The Guardians are back for one last adventure.

Marvel fans, mark your calendars: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster sci-fi comedy franchise, is coming to Disney+ on Aug. 2.

The film, written and directed by James Gunn, reunites the ragtag team of intergalactic heroes as they face new threats and old enemies in their quest to save the universe and one of their own.

Chris Pratt returns as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, who is still coping with losing his love Gamora (Zoe Saldana). He is joined by his loyal friends Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), and Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), who is in grave danger due to a secret from his past.

The Guardians will also encounter new allies and foes, including Adam (Will Poulter), a powerful being created by the Sovereign leader Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), a mad scientist and Rocket’s creator, and Cosmo (voiced by Maria Bakalova), a telepathic Soviet space dog.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on Disney+

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the 32nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the final installment in the Guardians trilogy. It proved to be one of the biggest hits of 2023, following the success of its predecessors, which grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide.

The film was initially scheduled to be released in 2020, but was delayed due to Gunn’s temporary firing and rehiring by Disney over controversial tweets he made years ago. Gunn resumed production after completing his work on The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker for DC.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere exclusively on Disney+ at no extra cost on August 2, 2023.
