Xiaomi unveiled its latest foldable phone, the Mix Fold 3, which boasts an 8.03-inch inner and 6.56-inch outer display. The Mix Fold 3 is the successor to the Mix Fold 2, which was launched in August of last year.
The Mix Fold 3 features a revamped hinge that makes it 10.89 mm thin when folded and just 5.26 mm when open. It also has a flexible LTPO OLED+ screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1 billion colors. The outer display is an AMOLED screen that also supports 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 2600 nits brightness.
The Mix Fold 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chipset for mobile devices. It also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The battery capacity is 4800 mAh, which supports 67W wired and 50Wwireless charging.
One of the highlights of the Mix Fold 3 is its Leica-branded quad rear camera setup, which consists of a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus (AF), a 10MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3.2x optical zoom, and a 10MP periscope camera with OIS and 5x optical zoom. The Mix Fold 3 also has two selfie cameras, one on the outer display and one on the inner display, both of which are 20MP sensors.
The Mix Fold 3 runs on Android 13 with MIUI Fold 14, Xiaomi’s custom user interface designed for foldable devices. It also supports dual SIM cards, NFC, infrared port, Wi-Fi 6E/7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS (L1+L5), GLONASS (G1), BDS (B1I+B1c+B2a), GALILEO (E1+E5a), QZSS (L1+L5), NavIC (L5), and fingerprint scanner on the side.
The Mix Fold 3 is available in two colors: black and gold. The black version has a glass back, while the gold version has an aramid fiber back. The prices are as follows:
- 12GB+256GB: CNY 8,999 (~PHP 70,200 or $1,230)
- 16GB+512GB: CNY 9,999 (~PHP 78,000 or $1,370)
- 16GB+1TB: CNY 10,999 (~PHP 85,800 or $1,500)
The Mix Fold 3 will go on sale in China starting August 16. There is no word yet on the global availability.
