POCO to launch a flagship phone with MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip soon

Xiaomi sub-brand POCO announced that it will soon launch a flagship smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip, a high-end processor that boasts superior performance and efficiency.

The announcement was made at the POCO Partners Southeast Asia Forum 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand, confirmed by our friends from GIZGUIDE who were there covering the event.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ is a 4nm+ chip with an octa-core CPU with one Arm Cortex-X3 core clocked at up to 3.35GHz, three Arm Cortex-A715 cores clocked at up to 3.0GHz, and four Arm Cortex-A510 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. It also has a 6th generation AI Processing Unit (APU 690), and a 4CC-CA Sub-6GHz capable 5G R16 modem that supports up to 7Gbps downlink speed. The chip is paired with an Arm Immortalis-G715 GPU with hardware-based ray tracing.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip will enable POCO’s flagship phone to deliver incredible performance and intelligent power efficiency, as well as stunning graphics and immersive gaming experiences. The phone will also support seamless 5G connectivity across both sub-6GHz and mmWave bands.

POCO did not reveal the name, design, or specifications of its upcoming flagship phone, but said that it will be launched soon in select markets. The company also hinted that it will offer a competitive price tag for its premium device.

Since its inception in 2018, POCO has sold over 20 million units worldwide and has expanded its presence in over 60 countries and regions.

POCO’s latest products include the POCO F5 Pro 5G, a flagship killer with a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, a 64MP main camera, and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging; and the POCO M4 Pro, a budget-friendly phone with a 90Hz LCD display, a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chip, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,160mAh battery with 367W fast charging.
