POCO launched its latest smartphones in the X-series: the POCO X6 and the POCO X6 Pro. These devices offer impressive specifications and features at affordable prices, along with three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.
The POCO X6 and X6 Pro are essentially rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Redmi K70E, respectively, which were previously launched in China. Some of the features were changed, but both phones have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner and an IP54 rating for splash resistance.
The POCO X6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 512GB of storage. It also has a 64MP main camera, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The front-facing camera is a 16MP shooter, enough for selfies and video calls. The phone also has a 5,100mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
The POCO X6 Pro, on the other hand, has a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It also has the same set of cameras as the POCO X6 for the front and back. It has a 5,000mAh battery that also supports 67W fast charging, which can fully charge the phone in 38 minutes.
The X6 Pro variant runs HyperOS, while the X6 runs on the older MIUI 14 with an update path to Xiaomi’s latest OS in the future. POCO also promised to deliver three major OS updates and four years of security patches for the X6 series, which is a rare commitment in the Android market.
The POCO X6 5G starts at INR 21,999 (around ₱14,900 / $265) for the 8GB+256GB variant, INR 23,999 (₱16,200 / $289) for the 12GB+256GB, and INR 24,999 (₱16,900 / $300) for the 12GB+512GB. The POCO X6 Pro 5G, on the other hand, starts at INR 26,999 (₱18,200 / $325) for the 8GB+256GB variant and INR 28,999 (₱19,600 / $350) for the 12GB+512GB.
The phones are going to be available in India on January 16, and will soon be available in other global markets as well. They are expected to compete against other mid-range phones from big brands, such as Samsung, OPPO, and realme.
