realme launched its latest flagship device, the realme GT5, in China. The phone features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, up to 24GB of RAM, and up to 240W fast charging technology.
The realme GT5 comes in two models with different battery and storage configurations. The 150W version has a 5,240mAh battery and comes in 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB variants. The 240W version has a 4,600mAh battery and only comes in a 24GB+1TB variant. The company claims that the 150W version can reach a 50% charge in seven minutes, while the 240W version can achieve a 20% charge in just 80 seconds.
At the front, the phone boasts a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 2772×1240 resolution. It supports HDR10+, 10-bit color, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The display is powered by a dedicated X7 display chip that uses frame insertion technology to improve FPS in games.
At the back, the realme GT5 has a triple camera system, consisting of a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The main camera uses the Sony IMX890 sensor, which is 1/1.56-inch in size and has an f/1.9 aperture. The front camera is a 16MP selfie shooter.
The phone also has some unique design elements, such as four RGB lights on the back that can be customized with 24 different colors and brightness levels. It also has a transparent window that shows a dummy chipset with the Snapdragon logo. The phone comes in two colors: Starry Oasis and Flowing Silver.
The realme GT5 runs on Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0 on top. It also has some other features, such as an IR blaster, NFC, tri-band GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, an under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res audio, and an X-axis linear motor.
The realme GT5 is priced at CNY 2,999 (~PHP 23,400/USD 410) for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 16GB+512GB configuration is priced at CNY 3,299 (~PHP 25,700/USD 450). If you want the 240W version, the 24GB+1TB version is priced at CNY 3,799 (~PHP 29,600/USD 520). There is no word yet on the global availability of the phone.
