Smart offers prepaid and postpaid eSIMs via email delivery, leads eSIM adoption in PH

Smart makes eSIMs more accessible and convenient for Filipinos.

Smart Communications is making it easier and faster for Filipinos to get their prepaid and postpaid eSIMs by offering them via email delivery.

Starting today, customers can now order their Smart Prepaid eSIM or Smart Postpaid eSIM at the Smart Online Store and receive it in their email instantly. They just need to scan the QR code and register their eSIM after activation to enjoy data, call, and text services on Smart’s award-winning mobile network.

The Smart Online Store is accessible on any mobile or web browser, so customers do not need to download or log in to a separate app. It also accepts various payment methods, such as Maya, GCash, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, JCB, SPay, and DragonPay.

Most flexible eSIM options in the market

Smart is the first mobile service provider in the Philippines to launch a prepaid eSIM in July 2023. Since then, it has seen a growing demand for eSIMs among Filipino mobile users who want to experience Smart’s superior network services.

“Today we are enabling more mobile users to get hold of an eSIM with the widest and most flexible options in the market: whether they prefer prepaid or postpaid, whether they want the digital version or the printed card version, whether they want to order via the Smart Online Store or purchase it personally at their trusted retailer, and however they want to pay for it,” said Alex O. Caeg, Head of Consumer Business – Individual at Smart..

Smart will continue to offer its Prepaid eSIM on printed cards in selected areas, such as airports, Smart Stores, online platforms like Lazada and Shopee, and accredited retailers. Postpaid customers can also get their eSIMs personally at Smart Stores nationwide.

Benefits of using an eSIM

An eSIM is a digital SIM that is embedded in a device. It is compatible with the latest eSIM-capable handsets from Apple, Google, Huawei, Samsung, and other brands. It offers several advantages over a physical SIM card, such as:

  • No need to worry about losing or damaging the SIM card
  • No need to insert or remove the SIM card from the device
  • Ability to switch between multiple lines or SIM profiles on one device
  • Ability to order an eSIM online and activate it instantly

Smart’s Prepaid eSIM costs only P99 and comes with up to 21GB of free data, plus 30 minutes of all-net calls and 100 all-net texts. Smart’s Postpaid eSIM starts at SIM-Only Plan 999, which includes unlimited 5G for 12 months; unlimited all-net mobile calls and texts; unlimited landline calls; and a Netflix Mobile Plan subscription for 12 months.

Foreign tourists, returning OFWs, and Balikbayans can also order their Smart Prepaid eSIM online before their trip and activate it upon arrival to enjoy local rates for data, call, and text services.

The new Smart eSIMs will be available on the Smart Online Store starting today, September 27, 2023.
