vivo X100 series launched with Dimensity 9300; Pro model packs 1″ Sony IMX989

vivo unveiled its latest flagship series, the vivo X100, which features the new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset and a groundbreaking camera system. The X100 series consists of two models, the X100 and the X100 Pro, with the X100 Pro+ expected to arrive in early 2024.

The vivo X100 series is the first to showcase the Dimensity 9300, which is MediaTek’s most powerful processor to date. The Dimensity 9300 is a 4nm octa-core chip with an all big core design and an Immortalis-G720 GPU. It supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, as well as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The vivo X100 and X100 Pro both sport a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The display has a resolution of 2800×1260 pixels and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It also features an under-display fingerprint scanner and a small punch-hole selfie camera.

The main highlight of the vivo X100 series is the camera system, which is co-engineered with Zeiss. The X100 Pro boasts a triple 50MP camera setup, consisting of 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensors, including the ultra-wide-angle and periscope telephoto cameras. The periscope lens is the first of its kind to use the Zeiss Vario-APO-Sonnar lens, which offers 100mm equivalent focal length and up to 100x digital zoom.

The vivo X100 has a similar camera configuration, except that it uses a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX920 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP telephoto periscope camera. Both models have a 32MP selfie camera.

The vivo X100 series runs on Android 14 with OriginOS 4 on top. It has a 5000mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging charging. The X100 Pro, meanwhile, has a slightly larger 5400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

The vivo X100 series is set to launch in China. The X100 Pro is priced at CNY 4,999 (around PHP 38,500) for the 12GB+256GB variant and goes all the way up to CNY 5,999 (PHP 46,100) for the 16GB+1TB variant.

The X100 is priced at CNY 3,999 (PHP 30,800) for the 12GB+256GB variant and CNY 5,099 (PHP 39,200) for the 16GB+1TB LPDDR5T variant. The global availability and pricing of the vivo X100 series are yet to be announced.
