The stage is set for the grand finale of the vivo 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge, a thrilling tournament that brings together the best basketball players from six participating universities. The championship will take place on November 18 and 19 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia.
This event is part of vivo Philippines’ initiative to connect with the student community through the exciting realm of basketball. As a partner of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the popular smartphone brand supports the sport cherished by Filipinos, especially college students.
Here is a recap of the journey and what to expect from the finals showdown.
The Road to the Finals
The vivo 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge started in September 2023, when it was announced on social media. The first school to be visited was the Lyceum of the Philippines University, followed by the University of the Philippines – Diliman, Jose Rizal University, National University, De La Salle – College of St. Benilde, and De La Salle University – Manila.
The tournament attracted a lot of interest from students, especially basketball enthusiasts, who registered in large numbers to participate in this sports event. Over 80 registrants were recorded at each institution.
From this pool of young sporty talents, each university selected 24 players and formed six teams that competed in intense games to earn a spot in the grand finals. In the end, two victorious teams from each school advanced to the finals.

With only a few days left to prepare for the vivo 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge Grand Finals, all of the members of the winning teams are fully immersed in their dedicated preparation and rigorous practice sessions.
The countdown intensifies the focus, dedication, and collective spirit of the team as they aim to showcase their absolute best on the grand stage, leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of victory.
