Nothing Chats is bringing iMessage and blue bubbles to Android

Nothing is launching a new messaging app called Nothing Chats. The app is exclusive to the Nothing Phone 2, the company’s second smartphone that was released in September.

Nothing Chats will offer iMessage-like features such as read receipts, voice notes, and full-resolution media sharing, as well as offer RCS (Rich Communication Services), a protocol that enhances SMS and MMS with more functionality. It will also be compatible with iMessage, Apple’s popular messaging service that is only available on iOS and macOS devices.

How is this possible? Nothing Chats is built on Sunbird’s architecture, an Android and web app that unifies various messaging apps, such as iMessage, SMS/MMS, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp. It uses your Apple ID credentials, which are stored securely, and offers end-to-end encryption for all Chat messages.

Nothing Chats Blue Bubbles

Sunbird uses a patented technology that allows users to send and receive messages from different platforms without switching apps. It also enables users to see the blue bubbles that indicate iMessage users, a feature that is highly coveted by some Android users.

Nothing Chats will be available in the Google Play Store for the US, Canada, UK, and EU markets. Nothing Phone 2 users will be able to download the app for free and enjoy the seamless messaging experience that Nothing Chats promises.

Nothing Chats is the latest product from Nothing, a company that aims to create smart devices that are simple, beautiful, and user-friendly.

Nothing’s first product, the Nothing Ear 1, was a pair of wireless earbuds that received positive reviews for their design, sound quality, and transparency mode. The Nothing Phone 2, the company’s current flagship smartphone, features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 50MP camera, and a transparent back cover with LED notification lights called Glyph Interface.
