PLDT and Smart Communications, in partnership with Tiktok, launched the eBiznovation Buy Local Bazaar Caravan, a program that aims to upskill micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Visayas on how to use the popular video-sharing platform to boost their online presence and sales.
The caravan visited three locations in Visayas: Borongan City in Eastern Samar, Miagao in Iloilo, and Sibalom in Antique. In each location, MSMEs participated in a whole-day training session that covered topics such as creating engaging content, building their brand, connecting with customers, and selling products on TikTok.
The participants also learned about internet safety and the Maya Business App, a tool that simplifies payment processes and enables secure and efficient online transactions.
Marylou Gocotano, PLDT and Smart Stakeholder Management Visayas Relations Head said that the program was designed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit of MSMEs in Visayas and help them tap into digital channels to showcase their products and expand their livelihood.
“With the right skills and support from partners like Tiktok, small businesses can tap into digital channels to showcase their products and expand their livelihood,” said Gocotano.
The eBiznovation program is part of PLDT Group’s commitment to advancing inclusive technologies and ensuring that progress leaves no one behind. Through initiatives like this, the group not only bolsters livelihood opportunities but also aligns with the government’s overall digitalization thrust, championing digital upskilling among Filipinos.
