Samsung’s One UI 6.1 update to bring Galaxy AI to these Galaxy devices in March

Galaxy AI features will be available on more devices.

Samsung announced that more Galaxy devices will receive the Galaxy AI features that debuted with the Galaxy S24 series, through a new One UI 6.1 update.

The update will be available for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series, starting from the end of March. One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI will bring a range of AI-powered features that enhance the user experience and productivity.

Galaxy AI is Samsung’s innovative technology that combines on-device and cloud-based AI to deliver intelligent and personalized services. Some of the Galaxy AI features that will be available with the One UI 6.1 update are:

  • Chat Assist: This feature automatically edits the tone of the user’s messages to match the intended emotion and context. For example, it can change “I’m fine” to “I’m great” or “I’m not feeling well” depending on the situation.
  • Live Translate: This feature allows the user to make voice and text translations of phone calls in real-time, within the native app. It supports over 50 languages and dialects, and can also detect the language automatically.
  • Interpreter: This feature enables the user to have live conversations with people who speak different languages, on a split-screen view. It works even without cellular data or Wi-Fi, by using the on-device AI.
  • Circle to Search with Google: This feature lets the user search for anything on the web with a simple gesture. The user can draw a circle around any word or image on the screen, and get relevant results from Google.
  • Note Assist: This feature helps the user create and manage notes more efficiently. It can generate formats, summaries, and translations of the notes, as well as sync them across devices.
  • Browsing Assist: This feature helps the user stay updated with the latest news and information. It can create comprehensive summaries of news articles, highlighting the key points and facts.
  • Transcript Assist: This feature helps the user record and transcribe meetings and conversations. It can also generate summaries and translations of the transcripts, and share them with others.
  • Generative Edit: This feature allows the user to edit photos with ease, using the AI-supported devices. It can resize, reposition, or realign objects in photos, as well as suggest the best edits for the photos.
  • Instant Slow-mo: This feature can create stunning slow-motion videos, by generating additional frames for the videos. It can capture action-packed moments with more detail and clarity.
