Samsung launches its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Galaxy Z Fold5, which offer improved performance, durability, and versatility.
The new devices feature a redesigned Flex Hinge that allows them to fold smoothly and securely, as well as a larger Flex Window that enables more functionality and customization when the phones are closed. The Galaxy Z series also boasts pro-grade camera capabilities with FlexCam, which lets users take photos from different angles and perspectives.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5
The Galaxy Z Flip5 in four colors: mint, graphite, cream, and lavender, as well as a range of accessories such as cases, straps, and NFC cards that can customize the look of the phone.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 also offers more functionality when it is closed or partially folded, thanks to the new Flex Window. The Flex Window is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display on the front of the phone that can display useful information such as time, weather, notifications, and music controls. Users can also access widgets, browse through call history, reply to texts, and take selfies with the rear camera using the Flex Window.
When the phone is opened halfway, it can be used for hands-free photos and videos with FlexCam. This feature allows users to capture creative angles and perspectives with the phone standing on its own. Users can also preview, edit, and delete their shots in Flex Mode, which splits the screen into two sections. Additionally, users can share their photos with their friends using Dual Preview, which shows them what the camera sees on both sides of the phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
The Galaxy Z Fold5 has a 7.6-inch main screen that provides an immersive viewing experience for watching videos, playing games, and browsing the web. It also has a 6.2-inch cover screen that can be used as a regular smartphone when folded.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 also enables users to multitask efficiently and seamlessly with various features such as Taskbar, drag and drop, hidden pop-up, and app optimization. Users can switch between frequently used apps with the Taskbar, move content between apps and screens with drag and drop, watch videos in full screen while chatting with friends in a floating pop-up window with hidden pop-up, and more in an optimized layout for the foldable screen.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 supports the S Pen Fold Edition, a stylus that can be used to write notes, draw sketches, annotate documents, and more on the large screen. The S Pen Fold Edition is slimmer and more compact than previous S Pens and can be stored in a Slim S Pen Case that attaches to the back of the phone.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy , which delivers fast graphics and AI capabilities. It also has an advanced cooling system that prevents overheating and maintains performance.
Both devices: Durable design & eco-friendly materials
Both devices are made with durable materials such as Armor Aluminum frames, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and a shock dispersion layer. They also have IPX8 water resistance, making them suitable for various environments.
They also use recycled materials such as pre-consumer recycled glass and aluminum and post-consumer recycled plastics, sourced from discarded fishing nets, water barrels, and PET bottles. The packaging box of both devices is also made of 100% recycled paper.
Pricing & Availability
The Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Galaxy Z Fold5 are available in different colors and come with a range of accessories such as cases, S Pens, and wearables.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 is priced at PHP 64,990 for the 256GB variant and PHP 71,990 for the 512GB variant.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 retails for PHP 98,990 for the 256GB variant, PHP 105,990 for the 512GB variant, and PHP 119,990 for the 1TB variant.
Customers who pre-order from July 26 to August 17, 2023, will enjoy discounts of up to PHP 43,000, including a free double-up storage upgrade, a free original Samsung case, 30% off on the new Galaxy Watch6, PHP 10,000 off on the new Galaxy Tab S9 Series, and 50% off on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Customers will also get one year of Samsung Care+ for free during the pre-order period.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 will be available starting August 18, 2023.
