Samsung launches the Galaxy S23 series; Price in the Philippines announced

Samsung today launches the new Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, along with several premium features, including a new design language and improved low-light camera performance.

Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+

The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ feature a new design with a flatter appearance and curved corners. Both feature 6.1- and 6.6-inch FHD Dynamic 2X AMOLED flat displays with 120Hz refresh rates, protected by the new Gorilla Glass Victus 2 that provides improved drop resistance. In the meantime, its frame is made from an aluminum material for added durability.

The smartphones are powered by the aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage for the Plus model. Battery capacity is at 3900mAh with 25W fast charging for the Galaxy S23 and a larger 4700mAh with a faster 45W fast charging for the Galaxy S23+.

On the photography side, both smartphones are equipped with triple cameras led by a 50MP primary camera, alongside 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto shooters. In the meantime, a 12MP front snapper takes care of selfies and video calls.

The Galaxy S23 series comes in four nature-inspired matte hues: Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender.

Price and Availability

In the Philippines, the Galaxy S23 retails for ₱53,990 for the 128GB variant and ₱57,990 for the 256GB variant. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23+ starts at ₱68,990 for the 256GB variant and ₱76,990 for the 512GB variant.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra follows a similar design as the Galaxy S22 Ultra that came before it, but with upgraded specifications and an improved S Pen.

It has a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset under the hood, with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Battery capacity is also bigger with 5000mAh and supports 45W fast charging, wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare.

Leading its quad camera setup is a huge 200MP sensor with improved “Nightography” capabilities for photo and video. For the secondary cameras, there’s a 12MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto with up to 3x optical zoom, and another 10MP telephoto with up to 10x optical zoom.

Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes in Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender. It is priced at ₱81,990 and ₱89,990 for the 256GB and 512GB variants, respectively. A samsung.com-exclusive 1TB Galaxy S23 Ultra is also available at ₱103,990.
