Samsung brings AirDrop support to Galaxy A56 and A57

Samsung brings AirDrop support to Galaxy A56 and A57 with the One UI 9 update. This feature lets users share files with supported Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs, through Samsung’s Quick Share.

The update adds a new “Share with Apple devices” option inside Quick Share. Once enabled, Galaxy users can send and receive files with nearby Apple devices without needing extra apps.

Samsung first rolled out the feature to its flagship Galaxy S26 series. It later expanded support to more Galaxy smartphones, and now the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A57 are joining the list.

For many users, moving photos, videos, and documents between Samsung and Apple devices has often required cloud services or third-party tools. This update offers a more direct option.

Supported devices now include the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S25, and Galaxy S26 series, along with newer Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip models. The Galaxy A56 and A57 are the latest additions to receive the capability.

To get started, users need to update their phones to One UI 9 and enable the Apple device sharing option under Quick Share settings. Apple users must also make sure AirDrop visibility is turned on.

The transfers may be slower than regular Quick Share connections. In some cases, the phone may temporarily disconnect from Wi-Fi while looking for or transferring files to Apple devices.

For Galaxy A56 and A57 owners, the update makes sharing files using iPhones much more convenient. If One UI 9 is available in your region, you can enable the feature and start using it right away.

AirDrop-supported devices:

  • Galaxy S26, S25, and S24 series
  • Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 6, 7, and 8 models
  • Galaxy A56 and A57
