Smart Communications has fortified its partnership with the financial technology application BillEase. This collaboration aims to provide Smart and TNT prepaid customers with innovative solutions for a seamless loading experience.
The partnership now offers over 1.8 million monthly active BillEase users an alternative and convenient way to top up their prepaid accounts directly from their smartphones. The collaboration also introduces a ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ program, designed to offer financial flexibility for immediate load purchases with the option to pay at a later date.
“With customer-centricity as our guiding light, we continuously provide tailor-fitted products that customers can avail in a seamless loading experience through our fintech partners to help them connect to our fastest 4G and 5G networks and use technology for their work, school, entertainment, or lifestyle,” said Chito M. Franco, Consumer Sales VP and Head of Key Accounts at PLDT and Smart.
The ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ feature is particularly noteworthy, as it provides customers with the choice of interest-free or interest-bearing plans, catering to their individual financial needs. “This option underscores our commitment to providing financial flexibility, empowering customers to manage their finances effectively while staying connected,” said Kurt Molina, Head of Merchant Products at BillEase.
Aside from these initiatives, Smart and BillEase also rolled out a promo where customers could win a Samsung Galaxy A54 by simply loading via the app. The lucky winner, Carlo Afable, a 28-year-old resident of Metro Manila, was presented with the prize at a ceremony held at the BillEase office in Makati City.
The enhanced network performance of Smart is supported by the extensive fiber infrastructure of the PLDT Group. As of the end of 2023, Smart’s mobile network, which covers 97% of the population, is backed by a fiber footprint exceeding 1.1 million cable kilometers, including domestic and international fiber cables.
This strategic partnership between Smart and BillEase is set to redefine the standards of customer service in the fintech sector, offering Filipinos a more accessible and efficient way to stay connected in today’s fast-paced digital world.
