Smart prepaid users can now seamlessly switch from physical SIM cards to eSIMs without changing their mobile numbers. This service is a first-of-its-kind in the Philippines, promising convenience, security, and flexibility.
eSIMs are a quick and easy way for mobile users to enjoy data, call, and text services without inserting a physical SIM card into their devices. Because it’s digital, an eSIM is easier to activate, manage, transfer, and secure from damage compared to a physical SIM card.
Smart Signature subscribers and Smart Infinity members can upgrade to an eSIM at any Smart Store.
Non-Smart postpaid customers, on the other hand, can switch to a Smart Postpaid eSIM by first getting their Unique Subscriber Code from their current network provider and then submitting the required documents to the nearest Smart Store.
The Smart Prepaid eSIM is compatible with eSIM-capable devices, such as the latest flagship smartphones from Apple, Google, Huawei, OPPO, and Samsung, among others.
Smart launched the country’s first Prepaid eSIM in July 2023. It has since made it widely available to mobile users through the Smart Online Store, accredited retailers nationwide, airport kiosks, and leading e-commerce sites.
