PLDT and Smart are stepping up their fight against online child abuse by working with more partners. The companies teamed up with teachers, counselors, and child rights groups to spread awareness and share practical tips.
Educators from Quezon City schools joined sessions on spotting online threats and guiding kids to avoid strangers online. They also watched episodes from the #BeCYBERSMART series, which explained phishing scams and why oversharing personal details can be risky.
PLDT and Smart also partnered with the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse and supported schools under the Department of Education’s Adopt-A-School Program. Khan Academy resources were introduced to help students learn safely in digital spaces.
On the tech side, PLDT Enterprise provided connectivity and cybersecurity tools. Its Cyber Security Operations Group blocked more than one million attempts to access child exploitation materials in 2025.
Since 2021, over two million harmful URLs have been blacklisted, while 210 billion malicious domain attempts were stopped last year.
