The first trailer provides a visual feast, powered by Unreal Engine 5.4.

The much-anticipated trailer for “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” has been unveiled. The trailer was revealed at the State of Unreal keynote by Epic Games on March 20, 2024, and features cutting-edge visuals using Unreal Engine 5.4.

The first trailer provides a visual feast and offers a look at the game’s narrative. Set against the backdrop of World War II, players will step in the shoes of iconic characters such as a young Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America; Azzuri, the Black Panther of that era; Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier and member of the Howling Commandos; and Nanali, a Wakandan spy operating undercover in occupied Paris.

Here’s how Marvel describes the game:

In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy. Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra.

The game was announced in 2021. It was developed by Skydance New Media with writer and director Amy Hennig, best known for her work in the Uncharted franchise.

“Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” is slated for release in 2025.
