HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra tops DXOMARK smartphone camera rankings

The Pura 70 Ultra beat several mainstream devices, including current Galaxy flagships and iPhones.

The HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra is now the number one phone at the DXOMARK Smartphone Camera Rankings, scoring 163 points. It overtook the equally impressive HONOR Magic6 Pro, who now sits at second with a score of 158 points.

Huawei phones have always impressed when it came to camera performance. Its latest flagship, the Pura 70 Ultra, is no different. The device features a triple camera setup headlined by a 50MP main camera and paired with a 40MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP macro/telephoto shooter.

The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin chipset with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also has a 5200mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. And since this is a Huawei phone, there’s no Play Store and Google apps here. For that, it has the AppGallery.

Impressively, the phone beat several mainstream devices, including the HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro+ and the OPPO Find X7 Ultra (157), who are tied at the third spot; the Huawei P60 Pro (156); the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro (154); the Google Pixel 8 Pro and OPPO Find X6 Pro (153) at eight and ninth; and the HONOR Magic5 Pro (152) at tenth.

DXOMARK praised the Pura 70 Ultra for its “very versatile camera that provides best-in-class mobile photography experience to date.” The device was also applauded for its best-in-class photo zoom experience, natural and smooth bokeh in portraits, and excellent close-up and macro performances.
