OPPO is bringing AI Features to all phones by year’s end

This could bring AI features to budget phones too!

In a move that could significantly impact the smartphone landscape, OPPO announced that it will bring AI features to all its phones, not just flagships. The news comes on the heels of the company establishing its dedicated AI Center for research and development earlier this year.

“For the first time in the industry, OPPO is bringing generative AI to all product lines. By the end of this year, we expect to bring generative AI features to about 50 million users,” said Billy Zhang, President of Overseas MKT, Sales and Service at OPPO.

Traditionally, AI capabilities are reserved for high-end devices and flagships. But the latest news brings the features to its entire product line by the end of 2024.

OPPO will also expand its AI offerings. Partnerships with industry giants like Google, MediaTek, and Microsoft will see features like AI Writer and AI Recording Summary available on OPPO phones.

The Google partnership will integrate Google Gemini family LLMs into the Reno12 Series and Find X Flagships. Additionally, the collaboration with MediaTek aims to “enhance chip storage and computational efficiency” on future OPPO flagship phones, while the Microsoft partnership brings Microsoft capabilities and improves “connectivity between desktop AI and phones.”

The company has already rolled out AI Eraser to its Reno11 Series. This means we could potentially see this, AI Assistant, AI Writer, and more to budget phones as well.
