Google’s annual Made by Google event unveiled a suite of innovative AI features designed to transform the Android experience.
The spotlight was on Gemini, Google’s advanced AI assistant, which received a big upgrade and deeper integration into Pixel phones and the broader Android ecosystem, including:
- Gemini Live: Gemini Advanced subscribers get a natural, fluid, and intuitive back-and-forth dialogue with the AI assistant. Gemini can seamlessly follow along, just like a person would.
- Gemini Overlay: Users can now bring up Gemini’s overlay on top of the app they are using to ask questions about what’s on the screen. For example, you can find specific information about a YouTube video that’s currently playing. Images can also be generated directly from the overlay and drag-and-drop them to other apps like Gmail and Google Messages.
- More apps and extensions powered by Gemini. Gemini can help with various tasks by integrating with all the Google apps and tools. And unlike other assistants, it does this without changing between apps and services. Google is launching new extensions in the coming weeks, including Keep, Tasks, Utilities, and expanded features on YouTube Music.
Gemini is now available in 45 languages across over 200 countries and territories. Its compatibility extends to hundreds of phone models from various manufacturers.
