Hot on the heels of Circle to Search expanding to the Galaxy A Series and Tab S9 FE, Samsung upgrades the feature with new functionality.
The tool, which allows users to search for anything on their screen, can now identify songs too. This addition is currently rolling out to select regions on compatible Samsung devices.
For this to work, Circle to Search requires the Google app to be on version 15.32.37.28. To use it, simply tap on the note icon after activating Circle to Search.
Unfortunately, music identification is not available to everyone, despite having the correct Google app version and a Circle to Search-enabled device. It’s likely activated through a server-side switch, meaning it’s not solely dependent on the app version. For instance, the feature isn’t yet available in the Philippines, as I failed to find it on a Galaxy S23 that met the supposed requirements.
Alternatively, you can use Google’s Search a Song function to identify music, even by humming it.
For now, owners of supported Samsung devices must wait for the song identification feature to become available in their region.
