PLDT, Smart deploy free calls, charging, and Wi-Fi in Enteng-affected communities

In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Enteng, PLDT and Smart have mobilized their teams to provide much-needed communication assistance to affected communities. The telcos are coordinating with local government units (LGUs) and activated Libreng Tawag (Free Calls), Libreng Charging (Free Charging), and Libreng Wi-Fi (Free Wi-Fi) stations.

Beginning September 3, these free services will be available in the following areas:

  • Brgy. Hall Calauag, Naga City
  • Covered Court, Municipal Hall, Magarao, Camarines Sur
  • TBC, Municipality of Camaligan, Camarines Sur

Meanwhile, PLDT and Smart’s longtime partner, the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) continue to leverage the PLDT and Smart Infocast platform, sending timely alerts and precautionary advisories to residents

PAGASA reported at 3:00 AM that Tropical Storm Enteng is currently located in Batac City, Ilocos Norte. Packing maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center with gustiness of up to 125 km/h. The Southwest Monsoon is moving Northwestward, affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
