The OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G is the latest premium mid-range smartphone from OPPO, featuring powerful specifications and features, including an IP69 water-resistant rating and an Underwater Photography mode.
We took the smartphone for a spin for the better part of three weeks and here’s what we have to say about it.
Design and Display
The OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G boasts a sleek design that OPPO describes as “Urban Avant-Garde Aesthetic.” Our review unit, in the Plume Purple color variant, is a gorgeous device that features a soft purple-hued back panel with a frosted, fingerprint-resistant finish. It has a subtle flowery pattern that interacts with light and shadow, giving it an elegant aesthetic.

At the back, there is a rectangular camera module with a noticeable bump. It features large lenses, hinting its focus on photography. Additionally, there is a small mirror on the LED flash to help with composing .5 Gen-Z selfies.
The handset is sleek and compact, despite the 6.83-inch display, measuring 16.27 x 7.66 x 0.76 cm and weighing approximately 195 grams. It has flat sides and rounded corners, ensuring it is both ergonomic and comfortable to hold.
One of the Reno13 Pro’s key features is its industry-leading IP69 dust and water resistance. This allows you to bring the phone into pools and other bodies of water. It can capture underwater photos and videos at depths of up to 2 meters for 30 minutes in fresh water, even without a protective case.

During a recent trip, we assessed the handset’s water resistance, and it performed quite well. It withstood immersion in waterfalls and continued to function without issue even when the buttons were pressed while submerged.
Please be aware that according to OPPO’s warranty terms, liquid damage is not covered. Keep this in mind if you intend to use your phone near water.

The Reno13 Pro has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with an FHD 2800×1272 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screen, raised a few millimeters, slightly curves to meet the frame, giving it a sleeker appearance. The display itself is excellent with vibrant colors and deep blacks. It also has a peak brightness of 1200 nits, which means it has good outdoor visibility even under direct sunlight.

Adding to the phone’s overall durability is Gorilla Glass 7i protection, a pre-installed plastic screen protector, a bundled jelly case with raised corners (to protect the screen further), and All-Round Armor, which are cushioning and advanced technologies in glass, metal, and shock absorption to protect from low-height drops.

The Reno13 Pro has the volume rockers and power button on the right side. The device also boasts good-sounding stereo speakers, a USB-C port, and an IR blaster for remote control functionality.
Performance
The Reno13 Pro delivers impressive performance and can easily handle demanding tasks, including gaming and multitasking.
Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a generous 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. You can also apply RAM expansion to add virtual RAM to up to 12GB.

The phone also runs on ColorOS 15, which is based on Android 15. It brings several AI enhancements that optimize performance. It also features Live Alerts, which is OPPO’s version of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. Regrettably, it comes with considerably amount of bloatware. Just uninstall or disable those you won’t use. In terms of updates, expect 2 years of major Android OS updates and 4 years of security patches.
As a mid-range phone, the Reno13 Pro offers remarkable performance. Its day-to-day usage is smooth and responsive. Media consumption is also a good experience, thanks to decent stereo speakers that deliver clear sound with ample volume. Meanwhile, the in-display fingerprint scanner is fast and responsive as well.
This is attested by several benchmark tests which show impressive scores.

Cameras
The Reno13 Pro features a triple-camera system consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. Both the main and telephoto cameras have OIS. Meanwhile, the front shooter sports a 50MP sensor.

The phone offers a familiar camera app with the most popular settings and modes, conveniently within reach. Moreover, it has the usual modes, including Night, Hi-Res, Pro, and more.
Like most OPPO phones, the Reno13 Pro leverages AI to improve image clarity and sharpness of photos. The Photos app itself includes several AI-powered editing tools, including AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Reflection Remover, AI Unblur, and AI Eraser, all of which need an internet connection to function.
This combination of features effectively delivers decent image quality with good detail, dynamic range, and color accuracy. Here are some of the sample photos.
Sample Photos

Zoom Photos
The image quality of zoomed photos is generally good in bright lighting conditions. I found 2x zoom to be the optimal distance when shooting. Take note that optical zoom extends up to 3.5x. The 7x and beyond on the camera app is digital zoom.
Photos at 2x and 3.5x zoom have good colors and decent sharpness. Using the 7x zoom (and above) also maintains good colors, but sharpness and details tend to become softer.

Low Light and Night Photos
Low-light and night performances are decent. The details are good, but there is some noise, and the dynamic range is limited.

Selfies
Overall, selfies have good detail and colors, and pleasant skin tones.

Underwater Mode
One of the highlights of the Reno13 Pro is the Underwater photography mode, which, as the name implies, allows users to shoot photos underwater, thanks to the IP69 rating. Keep in mind its limitations — up to 2 meters deep in fresh water, for up to 30 minutes.

In Underwater Photography mode, the touch screen is disabled. The volume rockers become shutter buttons for photos and videos. Pressing the power button turns off the display. Holding it for 3 seconds deactivates the mode, and activates the water ejection function.

Battery and Charging
The Reno13 Pro has a 5800mAh battery that supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Charging from zero to 100% took around 55 minutes.
The battery is impressive. It can last a full day, even with heavy usage. In the PC Mark Work 3.0 Battery Life test, the phone scored 11 hours and 51 minutes. The test was conducted with the battery at 85%, brightness set at 80%, volume muted, and in airplane mode. This translates to 9 hours and 17 minutes of “screen on time” and 1 day 14 hours and 16 minutes of “used since last charge.”
Charging is pretty quick, despite the large capacity. The included 80W charger can charge the phone to full in 48 minutes. In the meantime, a 30-minute charge yielded 66%.
Final Remarks

If you’re the adventurous and outdoorsy type, the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G is an excellent choice. It is built for adventure with an IP69 rating and an Underwater Photography mode for quick snaps in pools and freshwater. Moreover, the All-Around Armor ensures minimal damage from drops.
The Reno13 Pro is no slouch in the speed department either. The Dimensity 8350 provides ample power for daily use, including gaming. Additionally, its long battery life and fast charging speed means you spend more time using the phone.
At PHP 43,999, the handset is on the pricey side. However, it offers many compelling features that make it a well-rounded device. There are no compromises in performance, and it does not scrimp on storage (512GB) or battery capacity (5800mAh) either.
Furthermore, it is a viable alternative to other durable mid-range devices offered by major brands such as Samsung, realme, vivo, and HONOR.
For those who have limited budgets, you can also check out the OPPO Reno13 5G and Reno13 F 5G for PHP 22,999 (12GB+256GB) and PHP 34,999 (12GB+512GB), respectively. These also offer AI photo editing features as well as the IP69 rating and the Underwater Photography mode.
