Apple might drop the iPhone SE 4 next week, says report

Apple might just surprise us all soon. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone SE 4 could launch as early as next week.

The long-anticipated iPhone SE has been on the radar of everyone looking for a budget iOS device since 2022. Gurman suggests that the handset will be revealed on Apple’s website without the usual fanfare of a full event and will go on sale later this month.

Recent leaks hint at the iPhone SE 4 adopting a design similar to the iPhone 14 with a single camera at the back. The display is expected to include a notch, which means the absence of the Dynamic Island found in the latest flagship models.

Moreover, the Lightning port will likely be replaced with a USB-C port. This move not only modernizes the device but also aligns with the European Union’s mandate for a common charging standard. Plus, there’s talk of an Action Button replacing the traditional Alert Slider, adding some new customizable controls for users.

One of the more interesting rumors is that the SE 4 will be the first Apple smartphone with an in-house cellular modem. If this pans out, it could pave the way for future devices to move away from Qualcomm, giving Apple more control over its hardware.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to keep its lower price point compared to the flagship models. Here in the Philippines, the current iPhone SE starts at PHP 29,990 for the 64GB storage option.

Apple is expected to adjust the price for the new model. Stay tuned for more details.
