OPPO and Hasselblad team up on new imaging system for flagship smartphones

A new mobile imaging system is expected to debut in upcoming OPPO flagships.

OPPO is deepening its partnership with iconic camera brand Hasselblad to develop next-gen camera technology for future flagship smartphones. The two companies originally joined forces in 2022, influencing models like the Find X5 series with pro-grade imaging features.

They’re now working on a new mobile imaging system expected to debut in upcoming OPPO flagships. While specific details are still under wraps, OPPO says it aims to “set a new benchmark for the quality of mobile imaging,” highlighting its dedication to premium camera experiences.

Previous collaborations introduced Hasselblad Portrait Mode, XPan simulation, and Master Mode. These features are based on Hasselblad’s X2D medium-format camera, which brought more control and color accuracy to mobile photography.

This renewed partnership reflects a growing trend: smartphone makers teaming up with legacy camera brands to boost camera performance. As device makers compete for attention, advanced imaging tech continues to be a major selling point.
