HUAWEI recently unveiled its new Pura 80 Series smartphones and the MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition (2025) at a regional launch event in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 22.
The event highlighted HUAWEI’s push into mobile photography and productivity tech. A Philippine launch is expected soon.
Leading the lineup is the Pura 80 Ultra, which features a switchable dual telephoto lens and a 1/1.28-inch large image sensor, designed for better zoom and low-light performance. Its camera system includes 143 components to deliver precise optical transitions.
The Pura 80 Pro builds on these features with a 1-inch sensor, an Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera, and an Ultra Chroma Camera for improved image clarity and color.
Both models come with second-generation Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass for extra durability and introduce new AI tools such as Messaging, Gesture Control, and a future photo-editing feature called “AI Remove.”
Also revealed was the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition 2025. It’s built for glare-free viewing and comes with a Magnetic Keyboard for mobile productivity. The tablet supports PC-level WPS Office, making it ideal for tasks on the go.
These devices run EMUI with AppGallery for apps, note that Google apps and services aren’t included.
Pricing and availability details for the Philippine market are expected to be announced soon.
