KPop Demon Hunters is now Netflix’s most-watched animated film

The show tops Netflix with 26.3M views, blending K-pop and fantasy.

KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched original animated film of all time, with over 26.3 million views just six weeks after its June 20 release.

The film is still gaining viewers, rising another 2% in its sixth week and staying in the Top 10 across all Netflix-ranked countries.

The movie is directed by Maggie Kang and follows the story of Huntr/x, a fictional K-pop girl group who double as demon hunters. Their latest mission is to stop the Saja Boys, a demon rival boy band threatening to steal fans’ souls. The cast includes Arden Cho, Daniel Dae Kim, Lee Byung-hun, and other well-known voices.

A major factor in the film’s success is its soundtrack. The lead single Golden, performed by Huntr/x, returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Global Charts with over 98.5 million streams.

KPop Demon Hunters currently ranks second on Netflix’s English Films chart, just behind Happy Gilmore 2, and remains in the Top 10 globally.
