Google Messages now lets you delete sent text; here’s how

Unsend messages, powered by RCS.

Google Messages has rolled out a new feature that lets users delete sent texts from both their own device and the recipient’s.

Powered by RCS (Rich Communication Services), the update is now available to most users after months of testing.

Google Messages delete for everyone

When removing a message, users can choose between Delete for me and Delete for everyone. You can find these options by selecting a recent message you sent and tapping the trash icon. Take note that delete for everyone only works if the sender and receiver are both using RCS-compatible apps.

The feature is now live across most devices running Google Messages. The update marks a shift in how Google Messages handles sent texts, giving users more control over what stays and what goes in their conversations.

What do you think of the unsend feature? Is it a long time coming? Does it violate transparency and privacy? Share your thoughts below.
