Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, its latest midrange mobile chipset. Built on Samsung’s 4nm process, the chip promises a 36% boost in CPU performance and a 59% improvement in GPU speed over its predecessor.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 features an octa-core Kryo CPU with four performance cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. Its GPU supports HDR gaming and is compatible with graphics APIs including OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan 1.1. Qualcomm has also integrated select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features such as Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Game Quick Touch.
Display support includes FHD+ resolution with refresh rates up to 144Hz. On the connectivity front, the chip supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4.
For imaging, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 comes with a Qualcomm Spectra ISP capable of handling up to 200MP camera sensors and 2K video recording at 30fps. It also supports Snapdragon Sound and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.
Memory and storage options include up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 3200MHz and UFS 3.1 storage. These features position the chip as a capable option for midrange devices aiming to deliver smoother performance and enhanced multimedia experiences.

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is expected to power upcoming smartphones in the mid-tier segment. Qualcomm has yet to announce specific device partnerships or release timelines.
