Google adds AirDrop support to Quick Share, starting with Pixel 10

This makes file sharing between Android and iPhone easier.

Google has updated Quick Share to work with Apple’s AirDrop, allowing users to send files between Android and iPhone devices. The feature is rolling out first to the Pixel 10 series and will reach more Android phones soon.

Quick Share has been Google’s built-in tool for sharing files across Android devices. By adding AirDrop support, Google is solving a common problem for people who use both platforms or share files in mixed-device households.

Photos, videos, and documents can now move directly between Android and iOS without third-party apps or cloud storage.

According to Google, security was a priority in building this update. The company added strong protections and had them tested by independent experts.

Apple has kept AirDrop exclusive to its own devices, but Google is opening the door to easier sharing across ecosystems. For users, the benefit is simple: sending a photo from a Pixel to an iPhone should now be as easy as sharing within the same platform.
