Highlights include upgraded cameras, Kirin 9030 Pro chip, and up to 20GB RAM.

Huawei has launched the Mate X7, its newest foldable phone, and it’s slimmer and lighter than the Mate X6. When folded, it measures 9.5mm, and when opened, just 4.5mm. At 235 grams, it’s lighter as well.

The Mate X7 has two displays: a 6.49-inch cover screen and an 8-inch main foldable screen. Both use OLED panels with a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. The handset also has IP58 and IP59 ratings, meaning it’s protected against dust and splashes of water.

Cameras are a big highlight. The main shooter is 50MP with a variable aperture and OIS. There’s also a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and a 40MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, you get 8MP cameras on both the cover and inner screens.

Inside, the Mate X7 runs on Huawei’s Kirin 9030 Pro chip, paired with up to 20GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It uses HarmonyOS 6.0. Power comes from a 5,600mAh battery with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
