realme 16 Pro series with 200MP camera to launch in January 2026

Highlights include a 200MP camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, AI tools, and 4K HDR video.

realme has confirmed the launch of the realme 16 Pro series in India on January 6, 2026. The lineup brings back the plus model, led by the realme 16 Pro+ with a new 200MP camera system.

The realme 16 Pro+ features a Samsung HP5 sensor paired with a 3.5x telephoto lens. It supports a wide focal range, from 0.6x wide-angle up to 120x zoom.

On the software side, realme introduces the LumaColor IMAGE system, developed with TÜV Rheinland. It improves skin tone accuracy, depth of field, and lighting reconstruction.

AI features like HyperRAW, InstantSnap, and AI Perfect Shot help fix common issues such as motion blur or closed eyes.

Video recording is also a highlight. The realme 16 Pro+ supports 4K HDR at multiple focal lengths, with 60fps available on both the main and front cameras. It adds tools like MainTrack for subject tracking and 4K Motion Photo, which turns clips into live photos.

For creative control, the Vibe Master Mode offers 21 color tones and manual adjustments for saturation, contrast, and sharpness. Post-processing is handled by AI Edit Genie, which includes filters and instant video editing templates.

The realme 16 Pro+ will be available in two color options, Master Gold and Master Grey. It features an Urban Wild Design created in collaboration with Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, continuing realme’s long-standing partnership with him.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by an unnamed Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. It also packs a large battery, expected to exceed 6500mAh, and runs realme UI 7 based on Android 16.

For software support, realme promises three years of major Android updates and four years of security patches.
