Most used passwords in the Philippines in 2025 and how they stack up globally

Weak picks like "123456" and "admin" remain.

Passwords are still a weak spot for many users in the Philippines. According to NordPass’ latest list of the most commonly used passwords, the results show that people continue to rely on easy-to-guess combinations.

What’s more, the local list looks a lot like the global one, which means weak password habits are everywhere.

Top Philippines Passwords in 2025

Here are the 20 most used passwords in the Philippines this year:

  1. 123456
  2. Gonzales56
  3. admin
  4. 12345678
  5. 123456789
  6. password
  7. 12345678910
  8. 12345
  9. 1234567890
  10. admin123
  11. Password
  12. 1234567
  13. learning
  14. smartbro
  15. 123123
  16. P@ssw0rd
  17. Aa123123
  18. qwerty123
  19. 123qwe
  20. abc123

The troubling part is that the list looks almost the same as it did in 2023. Most of these are short number strings, default logins, or simple words. Even “P@ssw0rd,” which looks more complex, is still predictable because of common substitutions.

Global Password Trends

The global list isn’t much better. NordPass found that the top 10 passwords worldwide include:

  1. 123456
  2. admin
  3. 12345678
  4. 123456789
  5. 12345
  6. password
  7. Aa123456
  8. 1234567890
  9. Pass@123
  10. admin123

Notice the overlap? “123456,” “admin,” and “password” show up in both lists, proving that weak password habits are universal.

Better Practices Moving Forward

If you’re still using any of these, it’s time to change. Go for longer, unique passwords with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. A password manager can help you keep track, and enabling multi-factor authentication adds another layer of security.
