Gemini on Google TV gets smarter with new features

Gemini on Google TV is becoming a smarter companion for entertainment and creativity at home.

Google is rolling out big updates to Gemini on Google TV, announced at CES 2026. The changes make the AI assistant more practical for everyday use, while adding creative tools to make it more useful.

Gemini on Google TV now shows improved responses with visuals, videos, and even live sports updates. For more complex topics, it can break things down into narrated overviews, making it easier to understand.

There’s also better integration with Google Photos, so you can quickly look for specific people or moments directly from your TV.

Google also added Photos Remix, which lets you apply artistic styles and immersive slideshows that turn photos into cinematic presentations. Features like Nano Banana and Veo can reimagine shots or generate new media.

Another new upgrade is natural language control for settings. Instead of looking through menus, you can just say things like “the screen is too dim” or “the dialogue is lost” to adjust picture and sound.

These updates will first land on select TCL devices before expanding to other Google TV models in the coming months.
