UP Open University announces 28 free online courses for first half of 2026

UP Open University (UPOU) has announced 28 free online courses for January to June 2026. The programs are available through its MOOC platform, UPOU MODeL, and are open to anyone interested in self‑paced learning.

Learners who finish a course will get a certificate equivalent to 16 hours of training. Enrollment usually opens two weeks before the start date.

All courses are free and flexible, designed for learners to study at their own pace. UPOU said the July–December 2026 schedule will be announced later, with possible changes to current offerings.

Here’s How to Get Started

  1. Go to https://model.upou.edu.ph/
  2. Click LOG IN to create a new account.
  3. Fill out the form with your details. (Make sure your email has enough storage to receive messages)
  4. Check your email for the confirmation link. (Expect possible delays of up to 3 business days)
  5. Confirm and log in.
  6. Browse the homepage and select the course you want to enroll in. (Self‑enrollment usually begins two weeks before the start of the course)

Once your account is created, you may self‑enroll in all available courses. Scroll down to the Featured Courses tab to check offerings and dates.

Enrollment is only open two weeks before a course officially begins and remains available while the course is ongoing.
