Shopee improves online shopping access for VisMin buyers

Shopee is expanding its reach in Visayas and Mindanao, aiming to make online shopping faster and more reliable for communities outside Metro Manila.

Geography has always shaped how e-commerce works in the country. Deliveries across islands often take longer and cost more, limiting access for buyers and sellers.

Shopee is addressing this with Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS), a service that lets sellers store products in Shopee-supported facilities. Packing and shipping are handled by logistics partners, reducing complexity for sellers and improving consistency for buyers.

For VisMin customers, delivery times have been cut significantly. Orders that used to take about seven days now arrive in three to four days. Everyday items are more consistently available, allowing sellers to focus on improving products and pricing instead of managing fulfillment.

Shopee’s expansion also supports micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Since the pandemic, Filipino sellers have logged more than 110,000 hours in Shopee University courses, learning practical skills in marketing, pricing, and customer service.

By 2026, Shopee expects its VisMin operations to generate around 1,500 jobs in platform operations and seller support.
