OPPO started the year with the launch of the latest Reno15 Series 5G. In this review, we’re taking a look at the middle child of the lineup — the Reno15 5G.
The Reno15 5G sits between the more affordable Reno15 F and the top-end Reno15 Pro 5G, striking a balance with premium features at a mid-range price.
Starting at PHP 36,999, it packs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 50MP camera, and a massive 6,500mAh battery. On paper, it looks impressive, but does it deliver enough to be your next daily driver? Let’s find out.
Design & Display
The Reno15 5G follows the design language of the Reno14 5G with subtle refinements. It features flat sides, curved corners, and a square camera bump, giving it a clean, minimalist look that reminds us of the iPhone 15 Pro.

In the hand, the phone delivers a premium feel, thanks to its solid aluminum alloy frame and sleek glass back.
Our unit came in Twilight Blue, a deep shade similar to the iPhone 17 Pro’s Deep Blue. For those who prefer lighter tones, Aurora White is also available.
Up front, the Reno15 features a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display with FHD 2760×1256 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s a 10-bit panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, supporting over a billion colors with accuracy.
Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and with a peak brightness of 1200 nits, visibility under sunlight is excellent.

Durability is another highlight. The phone comes with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, a pre-installed screen protector, and a bundled case. It also boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, meaning it can withstand dust, strong water jets, and even submersion in up to 2 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes.
Beyond the display, the Reno15 offers stereo speakers, a USB-C port, and a fast in-display fingerprint scanner. As a bonus, the speakers deliver clear audio with high volume levels, rounding out the multimedia experience.
Performance & Battery
To no one’s surprise, the Reno15 5G’s performance impresses thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip. It can handle everyday tasks with ease and keep up with fast-paced games.

Our review unit came with 12GB of RAM, plus up to 12GB of extended RAM, and a generous 512GB of storage. It runs on ColorOS 16 (based on Android 16). Like most mid-range devices, it ships with some bloatware, but you can easily uninstall or disable what you don’t need.
OPPO promises 5 years of OS updates and up to 6 years of security patches, which is a strong commitment for a mid-range phone.
In daily use, the Reno15 5G feels butter-smooth and responsive. Throughout our testing, we didn’t encounter any performance hiccups. For gaming, most titles run comfortably at default or medium-to-high graphics settings.
For benchmark scores, here are the results:
- AnTuTu Benchmark v11: 1,351,135
- Geekbench 6: 1,236 single-core / 4,033 multi-core
- 3DMark Wild Life: 7,691
Battery Life & Charging
The Reno15 5G is powered by a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Wireless charging isn’t available, but endurance is solid.

In everyday use, which includes a mix of video streaming, social media, and browsing, the phone comfortably lasted a full day. With lighter usage, you can stretch it further.
In the PC Mark Work 3.0 Battery Life test, the Reno15 5G managed 14 hours and 58 minutes. Under the following test conditions — 80% brightness, muted volume, default refresh rate, and airplane mode — this translated to a respectable 12 hours and 50 minutes of screen-on time.

This is a marked improvement over the Reno14 5G, which managed a screen-on time of almost 11 hours under the same conditions.
Charging speeds are equally strong. Using the bundled 80W charger, a full charge took roughly one hour, making it quick to top up when you’re in a hurry.
Camera Performance
The Reno15 5G is equipped with a triple camera system: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Up front, it sports a 50MP selfie camera tucked into a hole-punch cutout.

Photo quality is impressive, especially from the main sensor. In bright lighting, images show excellent detail and texture with natural sharpness, avoiding the overly processed look common in some mid-range phones.
The 3.5x optical zoom is another highlight, with good detail. Going over the 7x hybrid zoom range, however, resulted in aggressive software sharpening and some “watercolor” artifacts.
Colors look natural with a subtle warmth, particularly in skin tones. Dynamic range is strong, balancing high-contrast scenes by preserving sky highlights while pulling detail from shadows.
Shots from the ultra-wide lens have consistent colors, though they are noticeably softer and less detailed compared to the primary camera. In low light, Night Mode produces clean, well-balanced images, with OIS keeping shots steady without over-brightening the sky.
The selfie camera is a standout feature, with a wide 100-degree field of view and support for 4K video recording at 60fps, ideal for creators and vloggers.
Overall, the Reno15 5G’s cameras deliver more than enough quality for social media sharing, with the main sensor producing shots that punch above its mid-range class.

Closing Remarks
As the base model in OPPO’s latest mid-range lineup, the Reno15 5G delivers more than expected. It features a vibrant 6.59-inch AMOLED display, a capable Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, and a massive 6,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
Add to that a versatile camera system, strong water protection, and you’ve got a daily driver that punches above its weight.

Of course, like most good things, there’s a catch — this time, it’s the price. The handset starts at ₱36,999, which is higher than many competitors in the same range (and even higher than the Reno14 at launch). Still, we think it’s a fair price, considering you’re getting more in return: better durability, stronger performance, and longer battery life.
If you’re looking for a stylish and reliable all-rounder with a solid set of features, the OPPO Reno15 5G deserves a spot on your watchlist.
