Lenovo announced the Lecoo Air 14, the first laptop released under Intel’s Project Firefly program. The initiative copies from smartphone supply chains, using standardized components to cut costs and make laptops more affordable.
The Lecoo Air 14 runs on an Intel Core 5 315 (Wildcat Lake) processor with 12GB RAM. It weighs just 1kg and measures 12.95mm thick, making it a portable option for students and office workers.
The laptop features a 14-inch display with 300 nits brightness and a 60Hz refresh rate, tuned for everyday tasks like editing documents, video calls, and light photo work.
In China, the Lecoo Air 14 is priced at CNY 2,999 (~₱27,200 / $440) after subsidies. Pre-orders opened on May 26, but Lenovo has not confirmed global availability.
The lineup also includes the Air 13, which upgrades to a Core 5 320 chip, 16GB RAM, and a sharper 2560×1600 display with 120Hz refresh rate, and the Air 15, which offers a larger 15.3-inch 1920×1200 screen.
Intel’s Project Firefly aims to streamline laptop production by standardizing interfaces and integrating smartphone-derived components. More than 70 designs are expected in the first rollout.
