Microsoft has rolled out a new feature to Windows 11 called Shared Audio. With update KB5089573, users can now stream audio to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. It’s a function that smartphones have had for years, but it’s only now arriving on PCs.
Shared Audio works by letting you connect two Bluetooth headsets, headphones, or earbuds to a single computer. Once paired, you can turn it on from the Quick Settings menu. This makes it easier to watch movies or listen to music with someone without sharing earbuds or relying on weak laptop speakers.
To use it, your PC needs to run Windows 11 version 26200.8524 and support Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast. Both audio devices must also support Bluetooth LE Audio, and the option “Use LE Audio when available” has to be enabled in Bluetooth settings. The rollout is gradual, so some users may have to wait for the update to show up.

Microsoft previewed Shared Audio last year, and it’s now available to all Windows 11 users. It’s a small addition, but it makes Windows more useful.
