Instagram has started rolling out a new scroll break feature that changes how users browse their feeds. After a few scrolls and probably some time on the app, it now pauses with a “Load more posts” button before continuing.
The update is visible on mobile and seems to be part of Meta’s ongoing tweaks to user experience. Instead of endless scrolling, Instagram now encourages short breaks, giving users a chance to pause before diving deeper.
For everyday users, this could help reduce fatigue. For influencers and small businesses, it may affect how long followers stay engaged with their content.
So far, the scroll break appears from time to time (sometimes, not at all). Instagram has not made an official announcement. It’s unclear if this is a permanent feature or part of a wider test. The move follows other updates focused on user control, such as grid reordering and improved feed recommendations.

The feature is already visible to many users, but rollout details remain limited. Whether this becomes a standard part of the app will likely depend on feedback and usage.
