Dell has launched the new XPS 13, a slim Windows laptop aimed at students and budget buyers. It’s positioned as a direct alternative to Apple’s MacBook Neo, which recently made waves in the education market.
The XPS 13 measures only 12.7mm thick and weighs 2.2 pounds, making it lighter than Apple’s entry‑level MacBook. It comes with a CNC aluminum body, a 2.5K IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate, quad speakers, and Wi‑Fi 7 support. The screen covers the full DCI‑P3 color space, giving it solid appeal for school and casual creative use.

The base model runs on Intel’s Core Series 3 chip with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. Pricing starts at $599 for students and $699 for regular buyers (around ₱36,140 and ₱42,170, respectively).
Higher configurations with Intel Core Ultra Series 3, up to 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage will roll out soon. Color options include Storm and Sky.
Compared to the MacBook Neo, Dell’s XPS 13 adds a backlit keyboard, dual USB‑C ports, and a Windows Hello webcam. It also uses dual‑fan cooling, while Apple’s model is fanless. The downside is its missing a 3.5mm headphone jack.
