Dell XPS 15z Unveiled, Specs and Features Detailed

The Macbook Pro is currently the benchmark for notebooks. It’s extremely stylish, it’s incredibly thin and it’s simply a very attractive piece of device.  It’s also light years ahead of the pack when it comes to details and overall finesse.  It’s therefore not surprising that almost every other notebook maker around is trying to get pages from Apple’s design playbook.

Dell just outed its newest notebook, the XPS 15z.  The XPS 15z is a 15-inch notebook weighing only 5.54 lbs. (2.51kg) and measuring just 0.97 inches (24.68mm) at its thickest point.  This is one of the thinnest 15-inch laptops around but it’s not as thin as the 0.95-inch Macbook Pro.  The Dell XPS 15z is optimized for long battery life with NVIDIA Optimus graphics technology and runs on a faster 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.  Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, and graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce (up to 2GB).  RAM is DDR3 (up to 8GB).

The design of the Dell XPS 15z is sleek, but it’s almost similar to the Macbook Pro.  The silver finish, the grilles and the backlit chiclet keyboard make this notebook a Macbook Pro wannabe.

The Dell XPS 15z is already available in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, and Taiwan.  This is expected to be launched in the Philippines soon. Price could be anywhere between Php45,000 to Php50,000.
