Dell just announced new tablets and notebooks. Among the tablets announced are two Android tablets that will certainly grab some attention for their ultra cheap price. Dell was previously in the Android game but became silent for quite some time. With the announcement of new Android tablets, the company is back in the Android wars.
Dell’s new Android tablets are the 7-inch Dell Venue 7 and the 8-inch Dell Venue 8. The first one is priced at $150 while the second is priced at $180. For branded tablets, these price tags are very affordable. These tablets have decent hardware specs wrapped in attractive design so these are bound to sell quite a lot of units.
These tablets are now high end as can be expected from their price but they are decent nonetheless. Both tablets have a 1,280×800 IPS display, which is really not bad at all. Both the Venue 7 and Venue 8 will have 2GHz dual-core Intel Z2580 processor, with a room for expansion via microSD slot.
The Venue 7 will only be available in 16GB configuration while the Venue 8 will be offered with either 16GB or 32GB storage. Both the Venue 7 and Venue 8 will run Android 4.2.2 with a promise of a future upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat. They will also come in WiFi-only and 4G LTE variants.
The Venue 7 and Venue 8 will be available starting October 18th. Pricing and availability in the Philippines is still unknown at this point.
