Intel has raised prices for its flagship desktop PC chips, with the Core Ultra 200S Plus series now costing up to $50 more. The increase affects the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, which are part of the Arrow Lake Refresh lineup launched earlier this year.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus now lists at $339 to $349, up from $299. The Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is priced at $219 to $229, compared to $199 before. The Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus also jumped to $214 from $184. Intel says rising supply chain costs and strong demand are behind the move.
These chips offered high performance for the cost when they launched, offering up to 15% better gaming at 1080p compared to non-Plus Arrow Lake CPUs. They also feature faster DDR5-7200 memory support, higher interconnect speeds, and Intel’s Binary Optimization Tool for software tuning.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus packs 24 cores (8 performance + 16 efficiency) with a 5.5 GHz boost, while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus carries 18 cores (6 performance + 12 efficiency) with a 5.3 GHz boost. Reviews showed strong productivity and gaming results, with the 250K Plus seen as a top budget option.
